Dehumidifier pump vs. gravity drain: plan the water’s path

Choose a drain arrangement before you choose your basement dehumidifier.

A gravity arrangement needs an appropriate continuous downhill route. A sink or discharge point above the unit usually means you need a suitable condensate pump.

Do not infer the permitted vertical lift from the length of the supplied hose. Check both measurements and the hose-routing instructions for the exact model.

The two compact AlorAir reference models in this tool publish pump and gravity drainage. They are not portable bucket-collection models. If emptying a removable bucket is your only option, choose a device designed for that workflow.
